HELP!!!! which monster?

So here is the deal, I just sold my bike and i am pretty well set on a monster but i cannot decide if I should buy the brand new EVO 1100 or an 09 or newer one. I really like the new one with the new lower seat an taller bars and all the ABS and DTC but I cant decide if it is worth $3000 approx. I am figuring that I can get a nice gently used for about 9 and the new ones are 12. Any input would be great.

Thanks Rob

Not sure what input your looking for ? There are so many pros & cons for a brand new bike vs. a used one. If you like the new model & have the coin buy it. On the other hand the 09 & newer ducs are great find a low mile bike & save a ton. IMO the Duc ABS is crap I wish mine had a permenent off switch.

Basically what I'm looking for is some way to justify the 3 or so grand price difference. What are the biggest differences between the older monsters and the brand new ones.

5hp, lightened flywheel, abs standard(saved my ass once or twice), dtc, slipper clutch, wet clutch, different ergo's, warranty(assuming you dont buy a NOS, or buy a used bike purchased last year) that was one of my biggest selling points was buying a bike that I knew I was the first person (other then the dealer) to ride.....good luck.

Well, There's this one

ABS (played a roll twice as well on the street for me), PC-V tuned, Factory Warranty till 3-12 and extended warranty till 3-2014. There's another upgraded part or two (or 10) that have this bike very close to the EVO. Have a custom seat made and pocket the other 3K (Taxes etc dont forget).

Garage kept, never riden in the wet or tracked...

Sitting in the Forum Classified's with full list of new parts.

It's a Quad-D ExBox.

Would one say the DTC on the Monster EVO is worth the extra cash over a 796 with ABS?

The way the engine fires, traction on throttle just hasn't been a problem.

ABS has been a big plus though... I wont have another bike without it.

The bike I'm selling is an 1100 BTW... (not sure if that was the ref). I would say the dif between the 7 and the 11 is worth the dollars...
