Not sure if this will help, but just installed the normal Rizoma rear plate mount on my wife's 796. Had purchased the higher priced Ducati piece, and took off just as soon as we had that installed. The Rizoma kit was light-years nicer, along with having better finish and overall installation was much easier. Would highly recommend that you go with their products whenever possible..Pat

Have you talked with motovation? I think they're a site sponsor and no - i don't have any affiliation with them; however, I have dealt with them previously and they tend to do a lot of these mods. They're also a Rizoma dealer so worth a shot. I'm willing to bet they may be able to shed some light (bad pun) on your question if you reach out and probably call them. If you get the answer or figure it out - please share the how to as I'm VERY INTERESTED in this same mod. Would love to see how it works out.
