Fair Price to list 11 796 for?

Hi, I just bought a 2011 M796 non-abs in July from Cross Country Ducati in NJ. I'm thinking of selling it to try and get a 1098S my dealer has and I wanted to ask what a fair price would be to list it for. It's flawless, no drops, scratches, dings. Full Warranty, Clear Bra Installed on delivery, 3" CRG Hindsight Mirrors, and a Tail Delete. It's Red and has 1300 miles on it with all the keys/paperwork etc. Thanks!

check classifieds in your area to see what the market is like.
It's winter time so it will take some patience to sell it. You could wait till spring/summer to sell it and it would be easier, but depreciation will eat into the price too.

Thanks for the link's I'll check them out, and I saw that one on eBay as well! He's been trying to sell that one for a while, I've watched his Buy it Now price drop over the past few weeks. My dealer offered me $6400 on a trade in, I was like "hmm, yeahh, I'll think about it, thanks."

Tough time to be selling anything. You're gonna take a bath on it having only bought it 5 months ago.
Maybe you can work with your dealer? Maybe negotiate a free service, a warranty, a discount on parts and accessories...all that stuff a dealer CAN do.

There are lots of ways to move the numbers around and make a happy deal for everybody. It's tough for everybody out there.

Dealer trade in sucks! Why don't you keep it a bit longer so the depreciation doesn't hurt you as much...? That 1098s is a big jump in power and riding style from the 796. What brought that about?

Riding with my friends who have CBR's and GSXR's is what brought it about Don't get me wrong, I love the Monster. It's a great bike in its own respect but after about 2 months of riding I started to develop an itch for more power and rather than mod this one to all hell I'd rather just make the jump to a superbike, and my dealer has 3 new 848's I can choose from or a slightly used 1098S that I'm drooling over. If I could keep both I totally would. I'm thinking $8700 is fair to list mine for.

I did almost the same as you, except I bought a used 09 M100 and traded it in on a 07 1098S. Did the trade at the dealer in the end of summer. They gave me $7,500 for the M1100 and bought the 1098 Tricolore for $14k and they gave me a discount on some gear. I think you should let your dealer know you want to make this happen but not at his prices.Let him make money on one or the other, not both. IMHO Lots of luck.

Thanks for the advice. I probably would've considered $7500 if they offered it to me, but $6400 is just disgraceful.
