M1100 Evo DTC error?
I was riding around today making 2 or 3stops, and turning off the bike each time, but when I fired up the bike the last time and went to take off.... over 10 mph the over rev/dtc light flashes and cuts power. Fortunately I was able to ride the shoulder into a parking lot. Tried a few more times to accelerate and same thing. Turned the bike off, sat for a second and turned bike back on, tested it a couple times in the parking lot with no problems and made it back home. Traction control is set at level 1. Bike has 2900 miles. 2nd time this has happened since ive owned the bike. Before I run it back to the dealer anyone else run into this?

Mine has never done that in 3000 miles, definitely have the dealer check it out, you may have a bad wheel speed sensor, or some sort of calibration/ecu issues. Since the ABS is tied to the same wheel speed sensors it could be affected as well. Just a thought....

Exact same thing happened to me. I have a 2012 1100 EVO. Happened only once with about 500 miles on the bike. It just flashed the lights at the top of the dash and with any throttle input it would completely bog down and almost stall. I rolled to the side of the road turned it off. Waited a few minutes. Started back up and all was fine. Has not come back in the last 1000 miles. When I mentioned it to the dealer last time I was there (did not have the bike however) they sounded surprised and just shrugged it off as "Ducati character". Ugg.
I've had more crazy things with this bike in the 1400 miles I've owned it then all the bikes I've owned before combined (which isn't that many however). They probably couldn't design a noisier engine than this if they tried (aside from going back to a dry clutch). All sorts of strange clunks, clanks, chatter, and clicks. Maybe someone left a wrench in there during assembly... And I thought my Vulcan's EN500 was a noisy engine!!

The same thing happened to me on my very first M1100 demo ride. The bike had less than 150 miles on it. It suddenly would lose power and sputter over 10 mph. I hobbled back to the dealership and told the manager. He had never heard of such a thing and seemed concerned about it. He started it back up, rode it around and it worked fine. I took another test ride and it never happened again.

I took my bike to the dealer last week and they werent able to pull any codes or duplicate the issue with the dtc.... I did however get my front rotors replaced under warranty due to being warped

That's it right there!! Good to see some documentation of the issue hopefully one step closer to a cause/solution.... I watched my dealer hook up the scan tool and check for codes and everything was clear.....is that kph or mph?? Mine wouldnt go above 10 mph when it happened to my bike.3800 miles on the odo and hasn't happened since.

Thanks for doing that. Mine wouldn't go above 40MPH after a stop at a traffic signal, but it only did that once, so far, on that one ride, about two months ago. Dealer said no codes showed up when they read it (they did this while replacing the recalled rear wheel). I had my DTC on Level 4 when it happened. I was, and am, guessing that it also was a DTC error, but I don't know how to tell for sure, since I can't duplicate it (hopefully it will never happen again). I assume that your DTC was on, since you note that it's a DTC error, but do you remember what Level it was on when it happened?
Thanks!
