696 termi fitting

Just picked up a bargain for my wifes 09 696. Wondering if I fit the slip ons, filter and ECU will I have to take the bike to Ducati to have it plugged in. Or is it just plug and play?
If it does need to be plugged in can someone tell me what the dealer will do?
Thanks in advance.
Phill

Plug & Play, did mine myself. I would recommend you disconnect the battery before swapping the ECU.

Thanks for that RDuc3. My wife would kill me if she couldn't ride it on the weekend.

The throttle position sensor will need to be reset, the dealer does it with the install, but it can be done easily by yourself. Do a search for tps reset, there is info on how to do it out there. The dealer does some minor adjustments when it is installed, they adjusted the fuel injector correction factor on my 1100 evo, but I don't think it is all that necessary. Once you do the install and reset the fps you should be fine, next time its at the dealer they can hook it up to the computer and make minor tweaks if needed later.

Maybe so, but when I bought mine the dealer told me nothing had to be reset. the only thing was to make sure the fast idle lever was not advanved while the ECU was reading all the sensors.
My bike ran fine with no adjustments - I think better.
Bike has since been serviced by dealer with no mention of any adjustments that should have been made at the ECU installation.
If the TPS should have been reset I quess mine was close enough to work?
The only issue I did have was that the ECU was set up for metric, but that was an easy fix with the handlebar switch.

I've heard that sometimes it causes problems and sometimes it doesn't, it is however a simple process that only takes a few seconds, if you start the bike and let it run for a little while without touching the throttle it should set itself, if you have issues just cycle the key on and off three times without touching the throttle, it will force a reset. I think as long as you let the bike run for 60 seconds or so when the new ecu is in before hitting the throttle you will be golden.

I found this post by desmoworks on another thread, it should help if you have any issues....Enjoy the new exhaust. BTW I recommend earplugs if you want to keep your hearing, it gets pretty loud.

If you start the bike and are turning the throttle the ECU won't learn the new TPS - it just reverts back to the last TPS setting it had. You can also force the TPS to reset by turning on/off 3 times (with no throttle input again) if the other method isn't working. That info was straight from the Ducati technicians training program I attended.
