Finally made up my mind.....STR
So been researching a ton and got great information for the forums and I have finally made up mind. I had 2 bikes in my mind forever and those were the monster 796 and the triumph Street Triple-R. I went with the ST-R and could not be happier. The power, suspension, and sound just surpasses the 796 in every way. I am not knocking the monster in any way, the ST-R is just an all around better bike.

Its kind of apples to oranges. A monster 796 is just that, a monster. A 675 street triple is basically a Daytona without the farings and different lights. (Yes I know there is a different engine tune from the Daytona and the street, but not much)
Its not like Ducati makes an 848 without the farings..... Well, actually now they do! Thats the bike you want if you like to go fast on naked Ducs!
Now put the naked 848 against the street tripple and see what happens. I love my Daytona, but I suspect once the naked 848's hit the scene they will be unstoppable and unmatched (by any other brand of naked) in the same general displacement category. Time will tell.
Enjoy your stripple but its time you joined the 675 net, if you haven't already.
Mark

Personally i think the monster has more style , culture , street cred , torque and tunes , engine size for engine size no , bear in mind the monster still has the simplicity of being an Air cooled twin , hp for hp i think the 1100 is a much better match and tops the STR in many ways , the 848 SF here in Oz is quite expensive at 4k more than the Monster Evo ride away and a more focused bike , Michael .
