2000 M750 starts choking after 30 minutes then won't start
Hello; I bought a 2000 M750 with 1700 miles a months ago. The guy I bought it from, owned for few months from the original owner and put 700 miles on it, with no problems, as he told me. He advertised it with all work done...etc.
The first problem I had was a month ago, it started hesitating and choking after riding it for 20 or so minutes and getting up to 4th gear/60 mph. It totally stopped then started at that time. I found out that a hose was pinched between the tank and the frame so I fixed that problem and though that was the end of it.
Today, after riding for 30 minutes and going up to 65-70 mph, it started acting up like the first time above. I managed to get it back to my garage. In 30 minutes or so, I started again and it was fine, so decided to take it for a quick spin and that is when it started hesitating again and totally died. Won't start no matter what.
I checked all the hoses and nothing is obstructed under the tank. I cleaned the small hole under the gas cap with compressed air and still no luck.
I then noticed two things which got me really concerned
1- The engine oil was very low in the side screen so I topped it off
2- Right under where the battery sits, there is a small finger tip size area which is almost corroding and collecting a black oily droplets which when I touch, comes down as a blackish oily drop on my finger tips !!
Any ideas what I may be dealing with here? I plan to take it to a mechanic shop tomorrow, but hope someone can shed some experiences/thoughts..etc
btw, the guy I got it from, told me he never had this problem with the choking bike !!!
