1100 evo next mods

Hi,

I have my Monster for a month now and I have a few esthetic mods almost done. Short tail, new levers, new mirrors. I will remove the ugly canister and for now I'm ok with the look. My next move will be to improve performance. Can you help me as what are the usual performance mods for Ducati Monster. I'm new to Ducati so I don't know a lot about them. I will surely change the exhaust but I will wait for a model that will caught my attention, for now the only one that I like is the termi but I think that it is overpricey so I will wait for something else. I already had the PSB14. I will also add a steering damper if I feel the need after a suspension setup next spring.

Thanks

From some posts that I read, I'm not sure that the termignoni solution is that much expensive. It come with a performance air filter and the DP ECU. If I bought something else, I will need a performance air filter, a power commander or something like this and someone to tune all this. So I think the cost will not be so different. Is this make sense?

A good tune would probably be one of the better performance increases... This being an ecu reflash with custom map....

The termi system(airbox/exhaust) really doesn't add that much performance. You can cut a few holes in your intake or use something like the mwr kit that desmoworks sells and benefit a whole lot more. The termi intake sucks.

These bikes run lean and kinda crappy from the factory due to emissions laws... A tune will clean it up nicely.

I also heard that a lightened flywheel will make the bike noticeably better, and was highly recommended

$1700+ tax new. I'm not a big fan of covering the wheel with the shotgun pipe. As far as DP ecu, my concern isn't about increasing HP, it's about no stuttering and excessive backfiring. Quite a few are going with the Leo Vince. $1700 and it's a slip termi, ya, ecu & filter. Sounds like you've been at the Duc parts counter ;-)
I just bought an 12 evo. Not sure what I'll be doing

So a MWR kit with a custom map reflash is a good way to go, That's what I think too. Do you think that with the stock exhaust that could do the job or I'm better with an aftermarket exhaust. Here the cops are all around looking for illegal exhaust, so I'm a bit nervous about changing my pipe.

I prefer the shotgun pipe to the 1 pipe setup. Congrats for your new Monster, I will watch what you will do to it

I think a good intake/exhaust/tune is the best option... Obviously more air in needs to be met with more exhaust out... Just dont think that the termignoni system is the best/only option... There are a ton of better options that work better..

There is probably no real or significant difference in performance between slip-ons... You are going to notice the most with intake/exhaust and a tune to match those.

Also, like I said, I have been told that the lightened flywheel is a great mod. DP sells one that your dealer can install and keep bike under warranty.

I plan on doing it this winter... And considering that the 1100/696 use the same flywheel, if the lightened one makes a big difference for the 1100, I could just imagine a pretty decent difference on my 696

Yep. $1700 is way up there.

You can get for example
* LeoVince Factory R Evo II Carbon Fiber Slip-on for $589 (sale)
* ECU reflash for $99 (sale)
* aftermarket filter for about $60 (I wouldn't bother)

and save about $1000 over the Termi kit.

You are right, but for now there is no slip-on that caught my attention, maybe this winter there will be one. As for the intake, I will try to listen to one before I buy one because I read that it can be too noisy.

I'm going to hold off too. I saw a few pipes for the 1100 that I like. If I go that way, I would need to trade someone a complete stock setup, 1100 EVO for a 1100. Those pipes are above $1000 so will see. In the mean time I may just paint my pipes and gut the inside?
