Need to replace my clutch...?

'09 Monster 1100 stock clutch is starting to slip a little in first gear from a dead stop. The bike has 20K miles, so I'm not surprised.
Which plates do you guys recommend? The dealer says stock plates only, but others have said Barnett or EVR make a decent product that works great.
I never track my bike and really don't ride it that hard, except sometimes
I'm planning on replacing springs too. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also, is changing out the clutch pack difficult? If I take care to assemble the plates exactly how they out and bleed the clutch I should good? I'd hate to pay the dealer an hour labor for something relatively simple?
Thanks in advance for any help!

i believe you have a dry clutch, that's good!

it's a super easy service, the only snag you may run into is that the push rod may come out with the pressure plate. not a big deal, but just expect it to happen. be careful with the O-rings and put a little grease on them before re-assembly.

replacement plates are your choice, i don't have the experience to advise which ones are "better". i used barnett plates the one time i've done this and they worked fine.

also, i don't think you'll need to "bleed" anything after the service, unless it needed to be done anyway.

good luck

Me too. I abuse the clutch mercilessly on my S2R. It's starting to feel like it slips on fast downshifts and howls like crazy on fast starts. I've been looking around and there are so many choices and opinions it's very confusing. Surflex or something like that is another one I see mentioned a lot.
