Red face M1100 EVO Exhaust question

Hi all,

Just sold my 1198s yesterday (purely a sad day) and looking into 2012 monsters and I need some insight on exhaust systems. I like the under the seat systems on the 796 but not fond of the 1100 side system. Does any of the manufactures make an under the seat for the new 1100?

Thanks for your input
Enrico

I have a new M796 and I am looking to get a low mount like the evo because of how hot the underseat gets while stopped in traffic. I agree underseat looks nice, but it is hotter than hell. Just my 2 cents. If you are looking for something without cans, baller bolts makes some really cool underseat pipes.

Interesting, I had SBK's and the carbon cans kept somewhat cool the pipes use to burn my legs! Aren't the pipes past the seat on the monster?

The heat seems to come from the Y or X pipes (whatever it is called). Mainly on the inside of my left thigh, it is nearly intolerable unless I put my left foot up on the peg while stopped.

Thanks for the heads up, very similar to the SBK's but the right side ))
I can always add some heat wrap, but first I need to find under the seat exhaust cans!

Motocreations and ballerbolts are your only options right now for and underseat or minimal exhaust. Personally I'm going to the boomtube route.

OP i think the 1100 evo exhaust will grow on u. i absolutely hate side exhausts on most bikes cuz they look really ugly but much to my surprise i actually like how the 1100 evo exhausts look. so i would say give it a chance.

+1 on the heat issues on the underseat pipes.

the heat radiates from the mid pipes and if you're wearing just jeans in the summer you'll start burning some leg hairs off. though, in the winter, you basically have a permanently running seat warmer. and i also agree that the 1100 shotguns will grown on you... when i first saw them in pics i hated them, but now i like them.

+2 On the y pipes causing the heat out the LH side - I have carbon cans and they don't get very hot, can touch then anytime without getting a burn

Thanks for the info, BallarBolts do look and fit very clean! My preference are a couple of carbon cans. Any more leads are welcome!

Thank you, E
