Ducati Rizoma parts quality??

Here's the story, had bought my wife a new black diamond Monster 796 back earlier in the Summer. Not long after, I ordered up the Ducati Performance plate holder/fender eliminator kit for it. Was hoping to clean up the rear of the bike. Anyway, part finally arrived this past week (not cheap by the way!). Wife and I spent 3 hours Friday night learning the hard way about disassembling the entire rear of bike and installing this kit.
My post is centered around the fact that I dismounted this kit the very followin morning and am taking back to dealership for refund, or will sell it on Ebay. What a piece of #@%*. Paint quality is trash, when mounted, rear light is too loose, and the biggest problem is that the kit won't allow the correct mounting for a US spec plate. Also, the turn signals when mounted to the new inner fender have a 1/16" gap because of the thinner plastic that's being used.
What I'm wondering about is whether I should go the route for the Rizoma unit or just ride the bike and forget about what the tail looks like?
Anyone else have similar quality concerns for Ducati accessories? I own three Ducs and by far this bike is the most fun to ride but also the worst to try and do anything to personalize to...

I have the Rizoma fender eliminator and have had no problems.
Got it from PJ's parts.
Here's a decent picture.

Damn that's pretty sexy. How much did the kit run you and is it an easyish install?

I have to agree with the OP. I wouldn't be happy with that DP tail tidy either.
I've been fitting the Rizoma gear to all my bikes for many years. It's still pricey, but it's excellent quality, fits perfectly, and always looks great!
I get all my Rizoma parts from PJ's too.

It's been a couple of years and I don't remember what iy cost.
The best I remember it wasn't too hard to put on, but the little Rizoma blinkers require the electric box changeover thing and there just id room under the seat for it, but it went.
Here's a link. Call them and tell PJ or Paige that George sent you lol.

Rizoma parts are top notch, but for the tail I'd go Evo tech it's great quality all alum. great fit & finish & much cheaper then Rizoma and when installed the tail tidys can't be seen. The best Rizoma mod I've done on the 696 are the bar & risers great looking & worth every penny. Don't let the DP pos tail tidy get to ya, there are some some great mods for the 696/796 bikes. My GF 696 mods, DP seat (good quality), Rizoma bars risers & bar ends, Leo Vince cans, Rexxer ecu reflash & hi flow air filter (awesome mod), carbon f. exhaust gaurd, carbon f. rear hugger, Evo tech tail tidy, polished swing arm (a tribute to the 250 gp bikes some love some hate it), custom rear sets (cheap home made nod that looks great), Fork swap 1098/848 forks & Galfer rotors & pads. The fork swap was far and away the best bang for the buck. The bike now weighs just under 380 lbs. with a full tank & is a blast to ride. Check out DMF forum 696/796 acces. & mods thread & you will see my mods. are the tip ice berg that's heading for your wallet ! Any way have fun & good luck with your projects.

this is the DP tail tidy, looks entirely different from the one that you installed.

It's a MIVV. I didn't have the clamps on quite right when the picture was taken, but I fixed it later.
I think everybody who has heard my bike says it's the best sounding motorcycle they've ever heard.
