Damn red lights..
Is there some sort of trick to get a red light green, cause they never know youre there unless theres another car with u... Maybe its because we're too light or something? its really starting to annoy me, I just ran it after 5 cycles.

They this... There's other similar options out here as well. Aerostitch used to have something like this in their catalog too...

Weight has nothing to do with it, it's a loop of wire that detects the bike like a metal detector. Rare earth magnets under the bike help, glue them on the belly.

I have had luck sometimes by stopping along the edge of one of the circles and putting my kickstand down directly on top of it.

I have been noticing those cutouts, ill try and figure out where the wires are and stop directly over them. I'm thinking about using magnets later tho, I do have steel toed boots

Some of them do in fact work by sensing weight. There are some sort of pressure pads under the asphalt and that's what triggers the lights. Or at least they used to be like that anyway.

thats what we thought at first, but metal detectors make much more sense. i mean scales a few feet under heavy asphalt sounds more expensive than a few wires and a tiny computer.
maybe Ill buy an vintage GT750, since they got more metal on them. and they look very nice.. NPR is selling one for 10k

As many articles will tell you, some are sensed by weight, motion, or magnetic field. I have a Green Light Trigger on the bottom of my bike that works well, but it's not a silver bullet. I occasionally have to run a light as well, but depending on your local laws, that should be okay because it's a "non-functioning" light.
Btw, there are lots of threads on this topic on this forum if you search and also on DucatiMonster.org.
