2007 Monster engine oil capicaty?
Sup y'all? im nearing 9,000 miles (wow that was fast) on my bike so Ima have to change the oil. I have an Amsoil dealer ready to get for me. I looked in the owners manual and found out my monster uses 10W-40 oil, (correct me if im wrong) but the problem is I do not know how many quarts I will be needing.. and what type of oil filter I'll need. Since most of these guys know the specs for a car, I doubt theyll have specs on a Italian motorcycle
please let me know more about what I'll need for oil changes and details. thanks y'all!

Religion is like a Penis, it’s alright to have one, you can be proud of it all you want, but don't whip it out in public, and don't try to shove it down my throat.

...........and start with about 3.2 qts, let it run for 5 mins (1/2 beer), turn off and let it sit for 30 minutes (2 beers), then carefully fill to between the lines (maybe even closer to the lower line) on the sightglass. it's easy to overfill and it will puke out the breather if you do, and yes i know this from experience .

thanks for the tip! I'll definitely keep that in mind. Might use a level to keep the bike perfectly upright as well. I bought the oil today and waiting on the filter in a few days now. Looks like I will be spending time with my old girl (95 YJ) til the bikes all changed out.

Exactly, what he said, plus, ...
... if you overfill the S4Rs you can suck the excess out the oil filler hole with a syringe and a bit of clear plastic tubing.
Can't do that on the MTS.
So, one could take the belly pan off and loosen the oil filter a bit to drain the excess.
Please don't ask how I know this.

haha okay, I have the S2R though. If things go wrong I'll be able to figure it out anyways. I will be changing it at my college, they got all the tools and equipment, I'm taking Automotive Tech now.
