Frame swap

OK I have a 2004 M800i.e. 4900 miles It was crashed and the frame cracked at the motor mount. So it has a non-repairable Texas title. I got a good deal on it. It is worth it if I parted it out. BUt it runs like a champ, everything is good and I would much rather rebuild it.

I found a 2004 S2R frame for sale with a title. Question is will the s2R frame work for me. Swing-arm mounts to the motor so not a concer. same 803cc motor right?
I am more than competent in the fabrication dept...I have a MIG and I can use it. no problem cutting and welding a frame I just want to know what I am getting in to so I can look for something else easier if needed.

Thanks for any help.

same displacement, but usually SSS bike have a narrow engine case where the swingarm mounts up and DSS bike have a wider case. but when i comes to S*R bikes i'm not sure if they fall under the wide or narrow case?

yeah i was not sure since both the S2R and M800ie use the 2Valve head. i think the s4R is wider in the heads? Could probably make spacers easy enough if I had one of those frames.

I found some parts fish site and looked at both frames. the only thing different in the two pics is the keys...but possibly they use the stock photo for the fische? different part number for the 06 S2R and 04 M800ie...

so, not quite as easy as it sounds. On another forum it was mentioned that the coil mount is different but not a big deal...But, the rearset/muffler hangers are also different. I had to cut both mounts off the old frame. Weld them to the new frame in the correct location, cut the old mounts off the frame. Cut the old coil mount off new frame, weld new coil mount to the frame.
Not so bad as I am halfway competent welder but the hard part was getting the frame smooth where the old mounts were removed. I spent a LONG time grinding and sanding to make it smooth.

either way it off to powdercoat now. Turning a silver framed yellow bike in to a red framed black bike
