Ti Monster S4RS
Hi guys,
I usually post over at Ducatimonsterforum.com but thought you might like to see my S4RS build. I just finished the Ti frame and I am getting ready to put the bike back together.

A while back there was a bike posted on these forums that was built on a Ti frame. Everyone went gaga over it. I got blasted for pointing out that the frame looked like crap. Big ugly bird shit welds. A few people tried to tell me that was just the way it was with Ti because it's hard to work with. Owning a Serotta Ti bicycle I knew that was bull shit. I hope those clowns see your bike. That frame and the workmanship rivals anything I've seen. Wow! Beautiful!

Thanks for the compliments guys!
I'm not sure what the final weight will be. I do know that the frame weighs 15lbs. The stock frame weighed 27lbs. I made the CF seat pan and it will weigh about half of the stock seat. I didn't have time to build a Ti exhaust so I am going to install a Quat-D ex-box exhaust that is about 10lbs lighter than stock. It will have clip-ons and rear sets also. I would like to have a set of CF wheels, but not in the budget for this bike. I am shooting for 350lbs dry.
As far as welding Ti goes, it's just about like anything else. I TIG welded SS for 12 years and Ti is pretty similar. The puddle is a little slower and stickier. Ti needs to be cleaner and shielded better, but other than that there's not much difference. Those guys that weld bicycle frames are artists!
