Heat from S4R tank

I have come to realize that having a cylinder between you legs tends to generate quite a bit of heat. The lowest part of the tank inside your thighs, where it is the most narrow, seems to become exceedingly hot.

Curios, has anyone attempted to install some heat shield material on the underside of the tank in this area? Have to tried something else?

My tank has a factory supplied blanket between the tank and the airbox and vertical cylinder. I found it in the Ducati Parts Manual as 486.1.056.2A Panel (BLACK). The word "panel" must have lost something in the translation, because its a blanket with insulating material sandwiched within.

Even with the factory blanket it gets hot in stop-and-go traffic. Sometimes hot enough for me to start lane splitting. Haven't tried insulating it any more, but I've tried really hard to avoid traffic.

Nature of the beast with this bike. Reflecting heat back into the area where it's trying to escape is probably not a good idea anyway. I've heard of batteries exploding and/melting on these bikes if things get extra hot for really long periods. Try to keep your bike cool as best you can.
