Arrows vs. Vance & Hines

I just read the Termi's or Arrows thread. I've narrowed to Arrow Carbons (racing) or the Vance & Hines CS 1's. I really like the deep sound of the Vance & Hines, but I'm not totally sold on the tetragonal shape. I've heard nothing but positive remarks on the Arrows and love their clean look.

My shop told me that with either, they recommend an ECU flash. I'd be interested in anyone that's installed either the Arrows or the Vance & Hines one your opinion and whether an new ECU or a flash is necessary.

I'm not looking to eek out every drop of potential horsepower. I just like the look and sound of aftermarket cans, assuming the bike runs well with them.

Thanks in advance.

Just bolted mine on, with no computer work. Runs great, I'm sure there is more to be had with a ecu, maybe down the road someday, but no flat spots. The only time it seems a little lean is during warm up, however this only last a minute or so, then it's fine. My Arrow's came from Motovation, great guys.

Thanks. Any opinions on the Vance & Hines CS 1's?

Sorry , I'v never used them. Leo Vince would be another great part. Had their slip-on installed on two different Aprilla RSV4's. Top quality that for sure.

I installed the Arrows Carbons for my 796.. .. Wanted something different than the generic Termis (Lets face it, we're all a bit vain to some degree). They sound awesome without the dbkillers. Backfires mucho on decel. Motovation did recommend a remap with the baffles out. Fit & finish is first rate (but then again, I dont have anything else to compare it with).

Thanks Tinger. I went ahead and ordered Arrow's from Motovation. Rather than the "racing" versions like the carbons you just got, I got the dark aluminum ones. Forgive my not knowing, but what you mean when you say "recommend a remap with the baffles out"?

Are you referring to an ECU flash or something related to the pipes?

Thanks in advance.

I just picked up my '05 SR4 two days ago (sooo stoked) and am already looking at my exhaust options. I'm with you Tinger. I think/know that Termig makes excellent pipes but more and more I am liking the Arrows about the best for DucMons. My good buddy has titanium Arrow sipons on his S2R 1000 and they sound phenominal. My other bug about the Termigs is that they appear to stick off/beyond the tail a bit too far. Once an eliminator is installed, one of the best looks, IMO, for a DucMon is how far that tire extends beyone the tail section. This is made even better with a SS swing arm.

All that said, I will most likely buy the Arrows. I have only ever seen and heard the titanium ones first hand. What do you all think about them v. CF cans? Also, for those who have installed the full sys, did you notice any difference in heat radiated off by eliminating the factory 2-1-2 shoebox?

I'm planning on getting the V&H's. They sound nice and deep, and I know they're top quality. I also love the look of the tetragon shape
