Tank spreading in Texas!

Ahhhhhhhhhh! My Monster's tank got secretary spread!

I just noticed today when I got home that the triple clamps now hit the tank at full lock. I need to sue someone or something. I can't decide who to sue first, Acerbis or Al Gore. I just know it's somehow related to the global warming this summer!

Well, maybe they are like women. Now there's just a little more of her to love.

Get your local Duc dealer to replace it under warranty asap as I think Ducati will only replace warped/expanded plastic tanks with a five-year limit. I had my '07 S4RS tank replaced twice and had it Caswell coated after the second replacement, apparently that's the fix to the issue. Basically, it's a barrier between the ethanol gas and the tank. At 6 months, so far so good ...

Al Gore invented Global Warming, so I would start with him and then get your new tank coated before install.

the tank on my first monster grew a little. i had to move the mounting/tilt bracket back as far as it would go.....in fact farther, i lengthend the slots in the mount with a dremel tool. it stabilized and didn't grow any more in the last couple of years i owned it.

my current monster tank has grown a little less than the first one, i'm keeping an eye on it. i did the same thing with the mounting bracket on this one, and always top off with gas on the way home......don't know if it helps but makes me feel better.

i can live with it as long as it doesn't bulge, or crack the paint.

both bikes are '07's (current bike was manufactured march 2006)

Yea, it doesn't look bad. I just noticed it hitting the top triple clamp. Now that I look a little closer it also now hits my steering damper when I try to lift it. The frame support rubbers were also not in the right position either but I was able to adjust them a little. I already had the mount all the way back but may try elongating the holes too. This is my second tank which I replaced at my own expense so I know how EXPENSIVE these suckers are. My first tank had an accident when it was petty new.

Last year, the rubber bumper under the right side of my S2R1k tank was half way on its way to the outside of the frame. This caused the tank not to sit level, changes the tension on the center lock lever thingy and since the tank was also pushing forward, it made locking the tank impossible since there was no room to lift the lever. It was replaced last year as well as the tank on the StreetFighter. Hope you get it fixed without any issue$.

Hello
How does one obtain this magical Caswell coating?
Can it be self-applied?
TIA,
