900ssie Tacho on a Carb Monster

Hi all,

can anyone tell if this is doable?

does the SSie Tacho takes its feed form the Coil(s) or the ECU.

My 2000 M900 only has a speedo and SSie insruments are cheap on ebay so ...

thanks for any help.

the MOTOGADGET stuff is cool. but doesnt really fall into my budget range.

the SSie Tacho is kinda laying around in a friends garage. I have had a look at a few wiring diagrams over the weekend, looks like connecting it to the coil for the vertical cylinder will either work or kill it.

anyone killed a tacho this way?

yeh im hanging to get my motogadget hopefull this week

i had a 999 dash that i was going to use with my carby 600 I could get certain functions to work but the rest went through the ecu worked from the inputs

prob be best to get hold of a wiring diagram to see where the tacho pickup comes from in the dash

interesting to see how you go with it

DUCATI MONSTER CARBON ANALOG REV COUNTER BODY < 2000 bei eBay.de: Motorcycle Parts (endet 01.08.11 20:27:07 MESZ)

should do the trick and the cable to connect the TACHO to the verticle coil.

Connected everything up, all works fine except that the tacho reads very low. looks like it reads 50% too low. Could it be that the SSie tachos pick up from both coils and "count" both sparks?

Should i give it a try or will i fry something?
