In Search Of A DB2 Billet Gas Cap

Several years ago, my '94 DB2's beautiful billet factory Bimota gas cap "grew legs" if you know what I mean. Since then I have replaced it with the factory plastic version as pictured here. But I sorely miss the original machined alloy cap with the bimota "b" on top.

I have communicated with the factory through Armin Schneider UG [info@bimota-teile.de] without success as it appears only the plastic version is available as a replacement.

Now, I don't expect anyone fortunate enough to have one of these billet caps to ever let it go but I would like very much to have a photo or two so that maybe, just maybe, I might be able to free one up somewhere or sometime in my travels.

Many thanks for any light anyone can shed on my quest...and this photo is NOT what I am looking for...it's of what I already have.

Thank you ZAWA! But unfortunately, that's not the cap I lost. Mine was machined as in milled from a solid billet of aluminum with a single three dimensional "b" milled in the center. It was a beautiful thing. A dealer sent me one like yours but I had to return it not just because of style, but also because the threads did not match my tank. My guess is that you may have a DB2 made later then mine. But again, thanks for your efforts. I really appreciate it.

Shat, the cap I have pictured is a machined from billet part. I do have a mill and lathe and make some parts out of billet. The cap you have looks like the cap on my YB10 and it will not fit on my DB2. They show this cap on a DB2 on page 55 of the bimota book 25 years of excellence. I have also seen a different style plastic cap on a DB2. Also my DB2 has a single digit serial number. If the top of your tank is plastic, it may have been a aftermarket or special order part. Good luck in your quest.
