DB2 corsa ?? Keihin FCR41 information wanted
Hello,
It has been a while.
I passed my big bike license yesterday and thus now I can finally concentrate on getting the old 900 SS and DB2 to pass the technical inspection. (we all LOVE bureaucracy don't we)
Since the dollar is so ridiculous cheap it is now the time to buy lots of shiny new bits to bolt onto the bikes.
Does anybody know what is needed to make a DB2 work with FCR 41 carbs ?
I vaguely remember reading somewhere about a DB2 corsa kit that used the 41's but can not directly find where it was.
and I am (desperately) looking for a staintune (or other) spaghetti system for the 900 SS. Does anybody still knows a source ?

I have these 41 flat slides on my '94 DB2 along with 944 kit, hc pistons and the factory carbon cans. I had to dyno it to set the jetting/needles correctly as the FCRs came set a little too rich. But once dialed in, the performance is a real treat. Easily getting air into third.

Picked up another DB2 and that one has carbon exhaust. I did not know they came standard. Are you using the JE Pistons ?
Would you care to share your jetting / needle setup for the FCR 41 ?
I have 39's at the moment but I see 41's for sale here at reasonable prices from time to time so I am tempted to put on 41's after the 944 kit. Did you install ST2 cams ?

Anatak and all,
I did not change my cams, just added HC Ferraci 944 pistons and cylinders and FCR 41's. The carbon pipes were not stock but a factory accessory and expensive, as I recall. With dynoing I found my best results with a slight leaning (dropping) of the needles but no jet changes from what was installed per a Ducati 900SS fitment standard tune from Keihen.
I'm at sea level and it was a warm day 90 degrees F. I did install K & N's for the readings. I don't recall actual dyno readings because I was focused on improvement only. Probably somewhere around 75-80 true RWHP.
She stumbles a bit until warm and needs quite a bit of throttle pumping (with no choke available) on cold starts. But once warmed up, she's bad, with air in third almost no effort. I did add a tooth or two to the rear sproket some time ago as there's little need for big top speed on public roads in this country. Still, I'm showing about 5K revs at 80 mph in top gear, 65-70 mph a 4K is sweet too.
My experience with factory race cams will generally result in less lower end torque but higher top end power. Not really a viable street solution IMO.
Steve
