BST Carbon Fiber Wheels ???

Has anyone had much experience with these CF wheels?

I have been thinking about buying a set of these for a project bike. Im interested in only street riding, mostly in the canyons of the Rocky Mountains.

My bikes that I ride have either aluminum or magnesium forged CNC machined wheel sets. I like the idea of trying a set of Carbon Fiber wheels but I have doubts.

How reliable and safe are these carbon fiber wheels? I have heard stories of them breaking up and or becoming brittle and unsafe over time.

Has anyone here put these on their bike(s)?

Im looking for any good or bad feedback on these before I buy a set.....

Thank you for any help

TONS of people have used these. I remember reading not too long ago that the failure rate is lower than aluminum and magnesium aftermarket wheels. Search around on the forum and you'll find a lot of people that have BST wheels on their street and track bikes.

No reason to have any doubts - it is a proven technology with proper certifications and has been used for years.

BST wheels

Great wheels. They make a huge difference in all around performance. Very durable, strong and safe. They undergo more testing and certification than aluminum and magnesium wheels.

Supply is not as good as it once was. Plan ahead for your project bike.
There are a lot of custom options available such as Matte finish, racing outers/street hubs, different widths...if you special order them.

Contact Nick@motowheels.com.

we've been using, selling & installing these wheels for about eight years. i've had them on my personal bikes (999, aprilia, zx-14) and they have many advantages (even on the street). about the only negative is that once you use them you will not want to ride a bike without them.

the old stories about c/f wheels were mainly from the old dymags from the 90's.

Thumbs up

Thank you guys for the feedback and the help.

With your help here I have decided to buy a set of the BST carbon wheels and see how I like them.

I understand the theory behind the use of ultralight wheel sets. Most of the bikes I ride are set up with forged magnesium wheels. Which are just one step heavier than going with carbon.

Enjoy the ride ...
