DB2 carbon repair ?
A few questions
Is it possible to repair carbon bodywork ?
I bought a DB2 and it has a small crack in the right fairing (probably tipped over). I was wondering if it is possible to repair a carbon fiber crack ?
another weird thing is that the brake fluid reservoir touches the fairing when I angle the steering completely to the left.
The clutch fluid reservoir doesn't touch the fairing when steering completely to the right.
I didn't have time yet to see if the clip on has moved or anything.
I also noted that the rear light has a crack on the right screw. Is this rear light a Bimota specific thing or is is shared with another bike.
BTW I think the rear light is kind of ugly. (only my opinion of course)

I have 93 DB2 and the bodywork is fiberglass, which can be repaired very easily. I have looked for a tail light and never found that answer, yes it is not the best looking, but you can't have everything.

Only thing I remember being carbon on the DB2 was the front mudguard and rear hugger. The main fairings are painted black on the inside, unless of course you have a carbon aftermarket kit. Handle bars will move and cause resevoirs to foul the bodywork after a light knock (happened to me as well).

never been so happy to be wrong.
I took a good look today and you are absolutely right. It is fiberglass.
How difficult is it to repair fiberglass if possible ?

It is very easy. The more difficult part is painting the end result. This can usually be done by the same, reasonably skilled worker. Dave

As for the tail light look in this archive for an answer, it is most likely there.

For the repaint you need to find a very good matchup guy.

The tail light should be the same as Ducati 851. At least that's what the previous owner says he ordered. I got both his replacement and the original cracked one and they are the same.
I haven't checked if they are similar but could any of these fit?

Also, check if the Yamaha FZR600's (older model) tail light would fit, some of them look similar and I think I've read that it should be the same but I may be wrong since the head light is from the FZR.

the FZR light looks close
I think it is a cagiva freccia cover
look here in case someone needs to check
http://www.ducati851and888.com/showt...?t=1654&page=6
so now I am going to try to find this cagiva thingie.
The think I don't like about the tail light is that it has two holes but only 1 bulb so that you see a difference in light between the inner part of the holes and the outer parts. Just my opinion of course.
Bimota should be concerned about how their bikes look from behind since this is the side you ll most likely see / show

Well that tail light looks identical to mine. As far as the bulb goes I found it to be very dull and found this: http://www.adventuretech.ca/
Fixes everything and gets my bike noticed, at least when I'm in town and that is not often.

I am interested in this too since drivers here think they can save fuel by slip streaming behind my bike (tailgating)
