Collection Ready for Viewing
We have enough of the construction done so my collection's home is ready for move in Friday. To celebrate, although the placards to describe the bikes and the fancy wall hangings etc will not be in for another week, Motorider, who the collection shares space with , is having a Grand Opening Sat and Sunday 1/30-31 from 10 to 5. Free food, etc. All of my Bimota collection and a total of 100 or so vintage and unusual bikes will be on display. No charge, of course.
If any of you are in or near the SE Wisconsin area, please drop in and say hi. We are at 8845 North Sheridan Road, Kenosha WI 53143. If you go to www.motoridershop.com there are Mapquest route directions under the tab, "Contact Us."
We are about 45 minutes North of the Chicago suburbs, the same distance South of Milwaukee and about 10 minutes from the nearest Interstate exit.
If you are planning on coming, feel free to drop me a note in advance and I will give you a guided tour. Dave

Question
Curious, mean no disrespect, what's up with the Web site? Only one link seems to work and that's "Home" and then it doesn't scroll at all. Looks far from complete. Is the museum up and operational?

It means that the Museum is up, "operational" and our Grand Opening two weeks ago was a huge success. We are now in the process of completing the physical location before turning to our Net identity.
We were under the gun to open on time (the weather here has been horrendous, as many around the country can understand. We barely had time to finish the main viewing area and even then did not have the time to paint the floor or finish hanging displays on the walls (they were finished at Midnight on the day we opened.) We were moving bikes into the display area at three am and finished about two hours before we opened.
The Museum is open now and the displays rotate every week, with about 60% of the collection in the main area with the remainder available for viewing in our 6,000 foot service/storage area located within the same building and accessible internally. For example, this weekend we moved the 1974 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport, the BSA Goldstar Grand Prix restoration and the Yamaha RZ500 into the main area and took the 1956 Triumph TR6, Suzuki X6, and the Triumph Super III back into the holding area.
The landlord had the electrians out this weekend as well, and we will be moving bikes out of the main area this week in sections to do the permanent lighting setup and paint the floor, also in sections so we do not have the entire area shut down.
The website will be done in the near future, but the physical premises must come first. Also, we do not charge for admission and I only have so much time to work on this when I am not trying to run my practice, sleep, etc.
Sorry for the delay, but please be patient. Dave
