Just some nice photos of a seldom seen but important model that formed the basis of the Bimota legend when the Japanese built great engines but couldn't build a decent chassis.

Hi Dave,

has the bike still the rectangular head light?

If yes, than it's the so called "Hänsle- Fairing" which was very popular in Germany in the 80's.

I think this bike was stored a few months in my shop before shipping to the U.S.

I recognized it due to the sticker on the seat.

It was not my bike, but I think a few of your bikes are coming from Germany, because they are familiar to me.

Good guess, this is the same bike. Several of my older Bimota have come from German sources. It is my understanding that TUV would not approve the original KB1 fiberglass fuel tanks and the German market versions had the metal tanks as the one on my bike.

Thank you for the name of the fairing/bodywork. My Bimota friends knew it has a particular name, but could not recall it. I will add your comments to our file at the Museum. Dave
