Okay, so much for "I've got the inside dope." The rumors -- and supposed pics -- of the DB8 Streetfighter are apparently not true. Here is the MCN link with detailed photos and comparisons between the DB7 and DB8, which proves to be a cheaper, albeit 8hp more powerful 1198 version of the DB7, lesser suspension, 8kg heavier, etc.

So you pick up 8 hp, lose some better suspension and pick up weight, give up a bit more here and there and save 3000 pounds sterling in the EU.
I wouldn't trade 'up' as I don't see this as an improvement, especially as the CYCLE WORLD article correctly said the suspension is the key to the DB7 outperforming the substantially more powerful 1198R -- and the DB8 uses the less powerful version of the 1198 rather than the R motor. The power to weight advantage is negligible.
I also spoke to a dealer friend today who said he doubted there would be that much savings by the time the DB8 comes into this country and passes DOT etc.
