Can you tell me how the BIMOTA DB6R compares to the BIMOTA TESI 3D? Since they have essentially the same engine ( except wet clutch on the Tesi 3D and dry on the DB6R)....
Which one handles better? Or maybe I should ask, which one would you keep if you could only have one of them ?
thanks

They are really two different bikes despite the same engine. The DB6R is a pure naked/hyper/supermotard in handling and response. The Tesi has a unique ride with the zero 'dip' response to braking as well as demanding its own, learned riding style as the hub steering front end gives signals to its rider that make you put enough miles on it to feel out what the chassis and tires are telling you. The ride on Tesi is more, plush for lack of a better word and a better long day in the saddle choice. I'd call it a tourer, but that is not quite right either.
Wouldn't sell either. Dave

I first saw a BIMOTA DB6R a year or 2 ago and I have been greatly impressed with it ever since. First of all it is stunning in person, looking even better than in pictures. As always BIMOTA has plenty of CNC machined billet components and to notch gear, and the DB6R at least comes with plenty of carbon fiber as well.
I have always liked the Ducati air-oil cooled engine and to put it into a BIMOTA rolling chassis is genius.
I find it funny how us americans are always wanting higher HP numbers when usable power is much better than to much power to handle.
Im in the process of selling a number of exotic off road bikes to make more room for street bike(s), and a BIMOTA is filling the top places of my want list.
Thanks again for sharing your pictures, info, and thoughts.
Cheers

I have posted this link before, but why I love the DB6R can be seen here:

To quote Micheal Neeves in his MCN test, like a BMX bike with a Ducati engine, and 'it's as hard trying not to wheelie it as to eat a fruit pasta without chewing it.' (I guess you have to be British to get all the nuances of the test, but he DID spend quite a bit of time on the rear wheel in the video.)

Has anyone made a streetfighter out of a DB1. A couple of years ago I was at Gowanloch's where they had a DB1 that their client wanted converted into a naked streetfighter. They were trying to convince him to keep it original. I must admit that when I pull the bodywork of my DB1 it certainly looks a mean little beast and if I had two DB1s it might be tempting to convert one to a streetfighter. The most beautiful bike in the world then becomes the meanest looking bike in the world!

I'd shoot anyone who would butcher a DB1 to do that Dave
