And more bike porn
Some of the Honda 'group' my RC30, VFR1000R and the NC30 (400cc version of the RC30 for the Japanese market.):
And the 400 cc version of the RC45, the NC35:
1000cc Katana, a one year bike and rarer than the 1100cc version, totally restored:

Interesting seat on the Tesi 1D. It looks like you're meant to sit "around" it rather than on it. Any input on what it's like to ride?

Yes, you sit "in" more than "on," the 1D, but that is the way all of them are designed, as you can see by looking at the 2004 iteration -- the 2D-- sitting to the left of the 1D. Of the three, the Tesi 3D is actually a very comfortable ride. The bars adjust and I plan on taking them up a bit more to allow a somewhat more upright riding position because of my crap back. What is REALLY a surprise is the comfort level for the 2D. Although the seat is simply two pieces of divided racer's foam (as you can just see in the photo above), it supports very well in conjunction with a true 'naked' riding position. The only issue is the location of the front shock on the left side, top section of the frame. Great spot to wack your knee under heavy braking, and the Tesi allows for very heavy braking indeed.
Bimota, especially since its resurrection in the early 2000s, has stayed with the 999 school, in rather on top of, the bikes. I agree with the observations of the recent CYCLE WORLD comparison of the DB7 and the 1098R, the former allows you to sit in and control better and in better comfort than the 'on' or track focused riding position of the 1098. Dave
