Aussies - any interest in a DB6R?
A mate of mine has a DB6R he is looking to sell. Just wondering if anyone in OZ is interested in such a bike?

I own one already and don't live nearby in any event , but just wanted to point out that this is a GREAT bike. Watch the MCN video, where their tester -- who calls them as they are -- calls it the "best of the best of the best." (Here is a link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpXmudBrqQo And, for five minutes of true bike porn, here is a video with the camera mounted on the bars behind the tach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJQgyvWqSys Note that in several instances where the tach starts to climb, the forward view suddenly shifts from the road ahead to the sky. Gee, wonder what happened there?
I absolutely love mine so go for it you folks in OZ. All it needs to be perfect is a set of Zard carbon cans to replace the stock, and somewhat ugly triangular mufflers. Mine had that surgery performed by Bob at Bimota Spirit before he shipped it to me. Dave

Maybe I need to ask the moderators to block my access to the Bimota section .... how much longer will I be able to control myself, resist the temptation, ..... I've been checking old socks, selling stuff I no longer need, ....
Beautiful bike indeed. It's not often testers use phrases like the best of the best of the best And what's more -maybe I should say less: 170 kg wet
My very first real motorcycle, '78 CB400FII, did also weigh in at 170 kg. But that was dry weight and that bike came with an astounding 37 hp at the crank ....
Still, lots of fun. I can only imagine what the DB6R will be like

Watching a video of the DB6R is fun, but riding it is indescribable. I have (too) many bikes and (there is no such thing as too many) Bimota, but they hit a grand slam home run with this bike. The suspension and the power are perfectly balanced to give you a ride that seems to read your mind. The slightest pressure on the bars or pegs and the bike goes just where you want to be. Friends who come off other bikes and take a ride on the DB6R come back with a huge smile and rave about it. A true 'keeper' and nigh on perfect. Friends in Oz, buy this bike if the owner is silly enough to sell it. Dave

Sorry for butchering your post, Dave; I hope I'm not putting words in your mouth now.
My question: if you can have only one Bimota, is this the one?

Of my modern 'New' Bimota? Yes. More times that I can exploit it to the limit and keep my neck -- and my license-- intact. As for 'only one' Bimota? Given the number of older, and often unique or nearly so models I have, I couldn't chose one as 'the only.' Dave
