Tesi 3D- What Are They Selling For?
Hmmm...I don't know how serious I am about making the purchase, but I've certainly got the fever! The Tesi-3D is the most striking bike I've ever seen and I'd love to add one to my garage, whether it be now or later on.
I know several of them have recently been sold. Anyone mind sharing what they've paid?
Are you as satisfied with your purchase as you had expected you'd be?
Thanks...

i prefer the tesi 2d -- not a huge fan of tube swing arms and forks. the 2d on the other hand is all handmade billet.
if you're buying for performance you will be disappointed. the feel of the fork is vague. the engine is, well you know what it is. the price is.........
you are buying into looks, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

SNS- Thanks for the input! I agree, the 2d is a technical masterpiece. From a design perspective, the 2d is in an entirely different class than the 3d. It's also at an entirely different price point!

Doug aka daotoys1? Any owners out there or folks who have heard the price others have paid?

A TESI 3 D was on Ebay a few months ago with an open bid level set at $ 27.9 k.
Did not get a single bid.
Used this to negotiate matching price from a dealer that had one on the floor for about a year.
Got SN ...002 a few weeks ago for $ 28 k, delivered to my door.
Bike had Conti Attack tires, which I replaced with Pirelli Supercorsas after a day at Palomar Mtn.

holiday: if you are patient and savvy you can get a deal on a 2D that's very close to the 3D. I don't think you want tubes for forks and swing arm.
the only reason to purchase a 2/3D is for looks -- the 2D is the only option, for me.
hunt around.

I've heard from a very reliable source that there were only 10 2Ds brought into the US. 3 of them are here in N. Carolina and it looks like one of those is for sale (check www.bimotaspirit.com).
Holiday if you really want a Tesi I'd just give Bob at Bimota Spirit a call. Looks like he has both for sale. Bob is an enthusiast, an authority on the brand, and a pretty good guy as well. I know that he has several out-of-state customers who come back to him again and again.

SNS- Thanks again for the sound advice; I fully appreciate all that the 2D is, but I'm sold on the 3D. I have to believe that it's a more sorted bike for the street driving I intend to use it for. While the materials of the 2D appear to be of a higher quality, I'm confident that the 3D is good enough.
Saint- I've dealt with Bob on a number of different occassions and he's just as you've said- a great guy and an authority on the brand. I gave him a call today and his 3D inventory includes two Limited Edition models- both new and priced just under $30k. One in the traditional red/white/gold styling and another in a special order red/white (gold deleted). More than I'm looking to spend at the moment, but certainly an option...

C Dolan- Wow! Great to have you local in San Diego! We should most certainly go riding soon- I'd really enjoy seeing your 3D in person. Thanks for your pricing perspective- it helps to pin down the bike's value.

I'll be running it at Palomar the next couple of sundays, depending on weather.
Weather and fog last Sunday, so that's when I spent the day wrenching
on bikes and putting tires on the Tesi.
Most of the Bimotas are in San Diego, but there are 5 at the ranch
at the base of Palomar Mtn.
KB-2, DB 3 Mantra, DB 4, SB 8, and the Tesi 3D.
Some of the Bimotas in San Diego have been rotated in and out of Palomar.
Cold weather is when I prefer to run the old bikes.
There is a big bicycle race ( AMGEN ) going through Hwy 76 and Palomar,
so most of that will be closed intermittantly on Feb 22nd.
