where has this bike been hiding
I like your story , I do think they have lost something in design since around 2000. I agree with you about how unique the Tesi 3d is.
The newer designs may be expensive but have lost that smooth flowing design
Doesnt that frame on your DB4ie only weight 11 lbs ?
It looks like even the detail down to the turn signals is special, enclosing the orange plastic behind a clear one. What are you going to sell it for ?

Nope, mine is Red and Silver. I was told there are approx 3 full fairing Db4ie bipostas in the US. There is also a half dozen half fairing Db4 bipostas. I like them because they have the Ducati fuel injection and my wife can hop on. (even though she never has )

I think the answer to why this is still unsold is simple, it is a poor economy, and even people who have disposable income are being very frugal. Now is a great time to buy, but a lousy time to sell. Plus, biposto Bimotas have always been a slow sell for reasons unknown. I would guess it is an 'image thing' since a biposto sport bike is a contradiction in terms for some.
This is not the only neat DB still sitting around 'unsold.' We have a DB2 Final Edition around our area that is a bargain, mint, and unsold.
Go figure. Dave (and thanks, have a nice DB4Corse and not in the market except for a SB2 just now.)

Dont know how the buying market is out there for something like this ?

I have been watching the market for well over a year now and have seen your bike listed (maybe I'm mistaken but it sure looked like it) several times. I was in the market and ended up buying a bike in Europe (many reasons). There are lots over there and the many more buyers http://www.mobile.de/home/index.html?lang=en#1 (if you're interested). Anyhow I think the "buying market out there" is going to be as bad as the economy is. Out west the prices for bikes are way better but a DB4 or almost any Bimota is not a well followed bike like a GSXR or the like.
Back east it seems to me that all bike go for $1-2000 less than out west (over all average feeling).
It is a strange thing that people will buy a mass market bike, like an R1 and spend tons of money to make it theirs. But a true special bike with incredible design and low build volumes is just so much hoopla in these peoples eyes. Go figure. Anyhow good luck with the sale and I hope you can sell it soon.

Your last paragraph is so very true....there are many, many guys who will buy a $10K to $12K Jap bike only to dump another $10K or $20K to set the bike up, but still they have a mass produced bike thats been modified. these guys think spending the same total amount of money on an exotic is a waste of money....To me it makes no sense at all.
The other trend is for the average guy to buy the mass produced bikes because the big manufacturers spend so much on advertising and have hugh race budgets.....but these smaller exotic manufacturers have the hand craftsmanship......Ill tale the exotics, thank you very much....
It has been my experience that exotics in general really dont resale very well....its generally harder to find a buyer, and many times the resale price will be less than the seller would like.
Spring into early summer seems to be the best time to sell, and the fall and especially the winter is the best time to buy.......but no mater what or when, a mass produced bike will always sell easier.

You'd have to pry my DB4 Tricolore Corse from my cold, gloved hand!

Now if you live in Calif Texas Ariz that Tri color is the Mexican Flag also
I saw one up close , the red on the front fairing the triangular red green
on the side , they had to try something new as always bimota learning to improve. So as I see above in the pics the nice red Black and Silver.
Then the other DB4ie Great combination Silver Yellow Black metallic
Then there is a company in Japan that totally repainted it all over.
White wheels and White body parts with some green and small amounts of Red decals , not too bad looking if you want the whole new custom look.
I'll have to get the link later of those bikes in Japan

Bingo! We have a winner. Oh, and don't forget the moto-mags role in advertising the Big Four bikes with their "shootouts."
