Question Why the wet clutch...Bimota Tesi 3D???

Why did Bimota decide to use the wet clutch on the production Tesi 3 D bikes???

All the Bimota pre-production prototypes and even the initial concept Tesi 3 D bikes had dry clutches. So why did Bimota change this???

Any replys are welcomed.

Personally I like the look of the dry clutch alot more than the enclosed wet clutch engine.\

Any thoughts?

there are many advantages to wet clutches (they tend to last much longer for one). ducati has been converting over to wet clutches the last couple of years and since ducati sells the the multistrada engine to bimota, the tesi 3d gets a wet clutch.

While the sound of a dry clutch is great, and as a dedicated Ducati and Bimota owner I have more than my share, the wet clutch on the newer Ducs, including my Sport 1000 BP is easier on the hand and has none of the slippage issues inherent in a dry clutch. I appreciate the wet clutch on my 3D whenever I take the bike out. Dave

Eh Dave, good to see your posts again, nice to have you back!

I got my DB2 after a long haul, literally to Austria. But she is home and I am having fun. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h.../IMG_1839a.jpg Getting new tires so it is flying in my shop right now.

Nice photos of the bike Andreas!....glad to see that you're enjoying it.

As for your mug in the photos, I'd like to quote a favorite character from the movie Halloween IV (or was is Saw III?...I can't remember).

"Aaaaaahhh! My eyes!...My eyes!!....Aaaaaahh!!!"
