i always saw bimota as just a more artiistic, more aesthetic version of a ducati... where you pay the premium for something almost home-made...
but now they have a true first... the 1st carbon framed road bike... that really puts them on the map! and considering the 39k euro price, it's actually an option for "mere mortals" or non "fat rich bastards" like one poster on this board likes to describe others.

Don't want to get picky but the Britten V1000 had a crabon frame and wheels pre dating this by about 10 years.

A carbon fiber frame may look trick, and may save weight, but motorcycle frames need to be able to flex to some degree. If a frame is to ridgid/to stiff then it has a negative effect on the handling.
I wonder how the bike actually works; I do not know if flex can be dialed into the carbon units or not....but a number of motorcycling manufacturers have toyed with the idea of using carbon fiber frames in their race bikes only to abandon the idea.
One of the reasons Bimota used a part carbon/part aluminum frame on the SB8 series bikes was to address this issue of correct and necessary frame flex....
I for one will be watching for the first test reports on this bike to see how well it actually works.
