Question Bimota Tesi 3D clutch question???

Does the new 2008 Bimota Tesi 3D have a wet or a dry clutch???

I have seen dry clutches on the concept bikes, but the production bikes have a complete clutch cover. The reports, road tests and reviews on the bike have contrary information. Some reports say the clutch is dry, others say its a wet clutch.

Does anyone know for sure which type of clutch is on the 2008 producth Bimota Tesi 3D ????

thanks

Pretty sure its still dry, every one I've seen and all info ive read says so... As for the carbon cover probably just to clean it up.

I know that the Tesi 3D concept, and the preproduction Tesi 3Ds had dry clutches.
I have had one Bimota dealer tell me that the ProductionTesi 3D has a wet clutch. And another Bimota dealer says its a dry clutch.

The majority of reports, tests and reviews say the production Tesi 3D has a dry clutch, but there are a few reports and/or spec sheets that say its a wet clutch. Trust me, if you do a google search and read enough on the bike you will see that there are inconsistencies.

Its really not a big deal, but I plan to get a Tesi 3D, and Id like to know. Of course once I get one I can find out myself, but if I can find out earlier, I can start looking for clutch upgrade options (slipper/anti hop...).

So I appreciate your reply, but I need a for sure answer. So maybe someone who owns a Tesi 3d, and/or someone who has worked on one of the production #ds can help out with my question.

Thanks for the leads of clutch upgrades. Now if I can find out dry or wet clutch on the Tesi 3D....

Regarding the listed slipper clutches, is there one you would recommend over the others?

thanks again

My reasoning was if you look at the shape of that carbon cover it shares the same profile as a dry clutch versus the big more squared off wet clutch, anmd seems to have an air channel built in.

I would just call a dealer that has one, It looks like scuderia west here in sf has one sitting in their showroom.

My guess is the Bimota has a dry clutch.

I like the Surflex Slipper for the easy clutch pull, and low maintenance. I use that on 4 of my bikes. The 4 spring is my 2nd choice as it has a very smooth engagement and a lighter pull. All the other ramp/ball bearing designs function about the same and have different surface finishes.

You are correct that the prototype had a dry clutch, but the production bikes (all 58 of them!) have the engine from the multistrada, with a wet clutch. The Ducs i've owned have all had dry clutches (after the '77 900 SS), and the wet clutch feels slightly different in it's engagement, but I'm getting used to it!
