Bimotacentric
Holiday, you said: "That said, I might start looking into developing a new "Bimotacentric" website forum when I return in the Fall." in another post.
I've been reading the Micapeak web archives and found there was a Bimota central web site in the past but it is gone now. It would be very worth the wile to find out what happened to that and if the info. could be found again.

The post count was quite low on the bimota central stite. Sometimes one or two a month. I think the forum on the Ducati.MS stite has worked out very well. We get a lot of exposure with the traffic for the other bikes.

We all enjoy the Bimota section of ducati.ms, but there is unfortuneately nothing attracting Bimota owners to a Ducati based website (especially one named ducati.ms! ). Do a quick search for "Bimota forum" and you'll only find reference to the U.K website- no such site exists here in the U.S. The Bimota section of this site suffers from a lack of advertisement.
With Bimota's increasing sales and overall presence here in the States, it's reasonable to believe that more and more owners are looking for an online source of related info, fellowship, and multimedia. Although ducati.ms has single-handedly served that need for a few years now, the Bimota aspect is merely an afterthought. That said, a Bimotacentric forum (as we'll call it ) seems interesting to me- one formated by era perhaps. Not intended to replace the Bimota section of ducati.ms, but one to complement it (ala' ducati.ms and Speedzilla).
Don't know the details on the "Bimota Central" site mentioned, but from a web search I found that it was made by a guy named "Niclas" back sometime between 1995-1997? Does this sound correct? I seem to remember a very opinionated fellow that went by that username on this site several years ago- anyone remember him? I've sent an email off to him for details- that is, if his email is still valid. Curious as to why the website failed. As ZAWA mentioned, it may have simply been due to a lack of interest. I doubt this would be the case today, 10 years later. In any event, is the idea of a Bimotacentric forum (with a similar info layout to "ms") of interest to the folks who participate here?

I think Bimota Central ended up being a list, kinda like the big Ducati list. People still post to it and I still get some mail, but it's small & quiet. Occasionally you get a small flurry, but it comes & goes. Bimota is still a pretty small market. We are lucky to have members on Ducati.ms who own Bimotas and contribute. Thanks to all who do !

bimota central
There was a web site run by a Swed that went by that name but he got married and had a son, I think a son. Anyway he got way too busy and way too broke, marriage and children will do that to you, and he stopped running the web site and no one wanted to take it over.
There is an email list that is fairly active. Some weeks I go with no posts what so ever and then someone will ask a question and there is a flurry of activity. I think last week I got about ten or fifteen posts where someone had a fuel pump question.
It is a micapeak list. bimota@micapeak.com

Jim has got all that correct about Nicolas in Sweden. Wife, kid, house....suddenly no time for his red/white/purple DB2.....a bummer for the Bimota community for sure.
The micaspeak email list is pretty good too. As Jim mentions, if there's a posting, there are usually answers very shortly.
This MS spot is excellent, but it does specifically say that it's for Duc motored Bimotas. I've noticed thankfully that the moderator(s) haven't been too strict about that (thankyouverymuch).

la la la..... not seeing anything.... All toys are good toys and there are so few Bimota owners. Many love them and are lucky enough to have more than one, so any engine is fine with me...

I bought my bike from a friend of his, from the same web site and the story is right. He ran out of time and money with his family and all, but I think he is still on the list. I also belong to that list and am thankful for that. I would still be looking otherwise .
