Arrow Pulled the trigger on the SB8K!

I've always been intrigued by the SB8K Santa Monica, and after several years of drooling, I bought a brand new 2006 model yesterday. More than I ever thought I'd spend on a motorcycle, but got an amazing deal which made it worth every penny. Found it on the advice from a fellow boardmember (thanks Catimann) with 0 miles at a Vespa store of all places! The Vespa dealership inherited the bike when they merged with the old "KC International" in San Antonio, TX.
I'm a Navy pilot deployed overseas, so unfortuneately I'll have to wait several months before I even lay eyes on it! Even so, I'm certainly looking forward to carving up Socal canyons with it when I return! Pic to follow once I can get it resized...

Great deal, now it's break in time. Hve you found or read the new hard break in method? I can't remeber where I saw it but it's out there somewhere. Perhaps other members know where they have read about it.
Glad you found it and are happy. Stupid luck on my part.

I was just reading up on some old articles on the SB8K - sounds like a wonderful and amazing bike! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with it - keep us posted!

About that 'hard' break in method, I think you're refering to this?
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I have tried in on my new Kawasaki ER-6n and my car, but have nothing to compare the results to, so I can't say for sure if its better or not. Anyone else tried it?

Just follow the Bimota or Suzuki manual for break in. The engine has already been dyno run at the factory. For break in on rebuilt engines with fresh rings and honing, use 30 weight oil and run the engine at various low to mid rpms with some load. Heat cycle a few times and your good to go.

Thanks for all of the replies! Very interesting article froryde. Is this the general consensus for proper break-in? Goes against everything I've ever read about proper break-in, but he makes some excellent points.
I don't even have posession of the bike yet, and I've already caught myself browsing Moto Corse's website. I've had an aftermarket exhaust with each bike I've owned and IMO makes the riding experience much more exciting. Apparently Moto Corse is the only company that makes an exhaust for this bike!?
I'm very impressed with their work, but the titanium full exhaust system for the SB8K is $4500 to my door! Dear looord that's expensive! Guess I'd better get used to it- thought the 749R was bad! Here's the only pic I have at the moment.
