DB5 raced Daytona Moto ST

Moto Corse Performance of Ft. Lauderdale entered one of their DB5's in the 3 hour Moto ST race at Dayonta last weekend. Finished 2nd in class, not bad for the first try.
Unfortunatly a few front finisher received a DQ ater the post Dyno inspections, somehow a bunch of bikes gained HP after running the hell out of them for 3 hours, oh well.

Final results here http://www.moto-st.com/Results/Sessi...08_Round1R.htm

Very cool race bike! I want one for CCS lightweight class racing! But it might be humbling as I certainly couldn't blame the bike for any lack of performance. How many of the DB5s have you guys converted into race bikes? Any of them for sale? Cheap!?!

Yeah, good luck on finding one cheap! Purely by chance, I was just looking for a DB5 this morning. They're $29K!

Well I was joking about the Cheap part, I know there is no such thing as a cheap Bimota. Where did you find a DB5 priced at 29k? the ones I've seen online have been priced low to mid 30s. I just destroyed $12K worth of parts on my Ducati race bike 10 days ago and I'm just trying to figure out how to make that figure larger in the next crash! Bimota!

But seriously, I want to continue racing CCS lightweight classes with an air cooled ducati twin. But all of the available bikes, SS1000, SC1000, Hypermotard1100 are all development projects as none of them were really designed as race bikes. SC1000 is probably the route I'll take. There's a race prepped one ridden by one of the class champions at Loudon. I'm going to take it for a spin this weekend and see what I think. A stock SC1000 is going to need two sets of wheels, new brakes, rear shock, new cartridges for the fork, rearsets, steering damper and some motor work. The DB5 looks like it might be set to go straight out of the box. It is an appealing, if expensive proposition. And what could be cooler? The DB5 is certainly a looker.
