The search goes on
With the tune "The beat goes on" playing in the background I only naturally came up with the thread title
So I wrote in one thread that some guy had said he knew of some crated DB2's and would get me the name. Well no luck, the emails get returned and there is no other connection. So it goes.
I also got sent to New Zealand but that one also seems to be a foggy nonreality. Someone on another group said there's somein Sweden but I'm not ready to go there yet. One last one in the US Only 3000 mile from home, right around the corner. But as soon as he posted it it got hijacked by his daughter and friend.
There is a new one in Germany 4500 euros but in condition 3, lots of work.
Never give up hope, anything can happen.

I know your pain, man. I remember first seeing my dream machine in my buddy's garage. A '94 DB2 red, white and purple non-FI with red frame. I lusted after that bike for five years before he finally let it go. Yesterday, after a spirited ride on my new Hyper, I took her out. An enjoyable contrast to say the least. The DB probably could use a set of fresh tires, although I really don't push it much in the corners. But the feedback when compared with the Hyper which is excellent, is on par. Of course the riding position is race-face serious compared to the Hyper's almost clown-like aire. It's just fun to be able to have two bikes with comparable engines but totally different personalities. And then to really mix it up, I'll climb on my Teutonic rocket ship, my BMW K1200S and now I'm off in a completely different dimension.
Good hunting...there's one out there with your name on it. I'd sell you mine but it would be like letting go of a child.

Of all the forums and comments I have heard, yours sums it up and I'm surprised many people sell them at all. I will really look forward to a ride on one when I get it. I've only heard one bad comment yet.

And the search goes on
It is a hard thing to say why I really like my db2. It is uncomfortable and twitchy but I love it just the same. I think part of it is the single purpose of the bike's design. Very light with a short wheel base and bumps on public roads make it hop and jump around. But on a smooth race track it just floats. I have never considered selling it even when I realized I needed to sell four or five bikes it was not even considered. I keep buying it things like jewelry for a mistress.
I hope you find one because they are special. I have heard from several folks the db4 is a better handling bike but I have never gotten attached to their look. I have a friend who has been waiting for ten years for me to sell him mine so maybe you will have better luck
Jim

You need to come to Japan. There is a used bike shop within one block from my house and they always have two or three. About 20 minutes from there sits a "Bimoto only" performance shop.
If only I had the money.

Well if I were Bill Gates we could talk but I'm not.
That said If you need a reason to stop in and take a look around would helping out a brother be a good enough reason? If you can't pull that off perhaps you could find the names and I could find what they have on line.
I can import a 93 with zero problems if it is stock and with mods it would depend on what was done.

Those who have them tend to keep them. A great combination of looks, performance, comfort and easy to keep running. Well sell it? Dave

I did find this one in Germany with S/N 004 but it has over 31000km on it so it has been used a great deal. http://tinyurl.com/yud3xo The bike is even close to a friend who could look at it. But this seller, like the guy in the US on Mica peak, has not got back to me. So it goes.

Well, it IS one of the half-faired models, which are relatively rare on the N. American continent and in the overall production as well. I'd like it, if it were over here, but the price does seem a bit steep. Dave
