Antera wheels
Just weighed the stock Antera wheels off the SB8RS, and added some other wheel weights for a comparison.
FRONTS
Antera 13.6lbs.
Duc 3 spoke 11.5lbs.
Duc 5 spoke 9.5lbs.
OZ alu. 8lbs.
BST 6.1lbs.
Dymag carbon 5.6lbs.
REARS with sprocket and carrier
Antera 19.10lbs.
Duc. 3 spoke 17lbs.?
BST 11lbs.
Dymag 10.4lbs
Helps to explain the 415lbs. weight of my SB8RS with the same amount of gas as the 1098. Of course there are some other tricks done to it.
Oh bye the way have the Dymags.

Interesting note. The overall weight issue isn't as much concern to me as the effect of the weight of the wheels on handling. The Dymags seem interesting Any idea how they will hold up in street riding conditions, i.e potholes, frost heaves, etc? Dave

I really do not see any problems with strength, remember they are replacing cast Alu. The thickness of the actual rim is about like a forged Alu. rim. So they have the strength as if built of steel and parabley much stronger then that. If you have worries about failure think what your butt is sitting on, on some of your bikes. They have made the bike handle much better, it feels a lot smaller also helped the weight transfer issue. It took a few more tricks to solve that issue, but got it done, it does not spin the tire as before when getting on the gas.

Speaking of wheels, do you know where I still might be able to find wheels that fit the SB6? Don't need carbon items, just good old alloy ones will be fine.

The forks are also heavy. We weighed the YB11's against the GSXR750 at Traxxion and it was nearly twice the weight.

Did not think they were real heavey when working on the forks, thought they were light for how massive they are. Just finished making a set of Dymag seven spoke forged mag wheels work on the YB11. Had to make a few spacers and move the rear brake caliper. They really changed the bike, it feels like a 125GP bike, you think it turns. I think it is the best modification that I have ever done to a bike. I rode about 500 miles on it last week looking for turns, and looking for turns is what you do in Fl.

Zawa, did the upgrade eliminate mid turn oscillation? All my YB11s and SB6Rs suffered with this mind you Hi Sports didn't help things either.

The frist thing I did to the YB11 was to make the front fork springs 10% stiffer. Then ran the sag at 15-25mm this seemed to help alot with the weaveing. When I weighed the Antera wheels and saw their weight, a light went off in my head. I think a leading axle fork is a self righting design, in that the fork wants to center it's self all the time. The heavy wheel just exaggerated the motion. The lightier wheels made the bike feel like a new 600. Also the standing up under hard braking while leaned over seems to be a thing of the past. As for the SB6, lightier wheels will help I would make sure you have the right sag and spring rate for you and your bike first.

Zawa what suggestion on wheels can you provide to upgrade my YB11? The mid corner oscillation is so bad that I now don't bother taking it out.
