db7 eicma 2007
Bimota will present during the forthcoming milan fair the new db 7 powered by a ducati 1098 engine. the plan is to participate the italian superbike serie civ and – with some wildcards – the world sbk. actually the factory is talking to some pilots and teams.
The future will bring a permanent participation at the world sbk
The bike will show some bimota typical detail solutions and a lot of high tech parts. The weight should be 175 kg. The engine will be a soft modded 1098 with some additional power.
Bimota will offer the bike in two versions: a road-legal and a race type with full 1200ccm engine.

My information as well. The first run of street legal models should ship within a month of the show's conclusion. Price? Not known, but it won't be cheap, but the bike should be world class since this will be the first 8V Ducati powered Bimota since the original Tesi in the mid-90s and a lot is going to ride on, in theory, the first new Superbike from the new Bimota.
I'm wishing them luck, and waiting for the first pics and prices. Dave

I just visited Ducati and Bimota today and will be attending EICMA as well. Will have pics soon!
Ducati was nice - very professional, very corporate. Nice "Desmocafe", complete with Ducati espresso cups and Ducati sugar packs!! Got to see the new 848 in pearl white - nice!
Bimota by comparision is a like a small art studio - the shop floor where all the assembly work is done is about the size of 4 normal car garages - but littered with DB5s, DB6s, and 2 Tesi 2Ds headed for the US
Caught a glimpse of one of the DB7 - didn't really see much. The other was being sent to EICMA - which I will get to see tomorrow.

Offtopic: I went over to Acke Rising at ISR this afternoon to pick up a new rear brake disc for my Bimota DB2, and then I run across Desmoworks add for ISR in this thread!
The world is full of coincidences!

Yeah, Acke is a super nice guy! Speaking of coincidences... I was just thinking a couple of days ago about sending you an email to see when you were going to start updating your blog.
I put a link from mine to yours a long time ago as I liked yours, but there hasn't been any activity in a long time!

Nice to see them going back to their 'roots' -- and nice to see these drop dead gorgeous bikes. Any word on which 1098 powerplant they are using in the DB7 or if they left it 'stock' or are they fiddling with the injection, etc? Dave
