I thought the Cagiva was going to use a Hyosung 650 V-twin?

How much are BB1s going for these days? I remember seeing them for not much money (well, we're talking a few years back).

I can't imagine an MV (even if it IS a Cagiva) being cheap!! Then again, it's all relative...

Cagiva (who owns MV) will use a Euro single and an MV is not always priced sky high. The Brutale S, which is a 'naked' F4 1000, was about the same price as the eqiv Monster with an 8v motor or the Aprilia Tuono. I suspect an MV badged Supermono wouldn't be priced out of the market. Dave

The BB1 that sold hear went for 8,000-9,000. What about MZ Sport or the replica.

For a 30% more dollars I'd be going for one of those DB4ie's that dnovo knows of. Brand new, 900cc, fuel injected etc etc... Just have to make sure that it was stored properly over the past six or so years.

Regarding the Mito 500, has MV/Cagiva signed some agreement with an indian company (Kinetic I think) to produce either the whole bike or the engine?

Where to find New DB4ies

Fact, not fiction. Last time I checked (within the last week) both Bimota Spirit (Bob Steinbugler in North Carolina) and Joe at SuperMoto on Long Island (they are both listed under dealers at the Bimota USA site) have new DB4ies for sale. They are both long time Bimota dealers and I am sure these bikes were maintained properly. If you want one, I'd give a call. Dave

I bought Bob Steinbugler's last DB4ie. I don't think SuperMoto has anymore either.

The guy that bought Bob Smiths 2 (broken) BB1s posted that he would like to sell one of them, but I can't remember where he posted it. It was recent too.

One problem with the BB1s was vibration due to being a single. This would sometimes crack the aluminum frame near the rear engine mount.

The best place that I have found to rebalance crankshafts is Crankworks in Arizona. We check every crank that we send out and are always impressed with the tolerances that they can hold.

I like singles too. But the ones I like are Cannondales. A stock Cannondale will vibrate your fillings out. Once I send the crank out to Crankworks for a rebalance, it is smoother than a Honda XR.

Correct, I was out of date by a bit, Joe at Supermoto said he is fresh out and Bob said he had sold his last DB4 to 'a nice guy.' Must have been you Dave
