Tesi 1D 904

New owner of the Tesi, looking for a factory shop manual to find out the easiest way to replace belts, looks like either dropping engine or removing right frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Bill

Welcome to the group Bill!

I suspect you purchased Jeff's Tesi from Malibu? (I live a couple miles from him).

I usually do all my own work, but I'll admit to not trying my Tesi belts...too much effort involved to "risk" doing it wrong....plus I know a great Duc tech and he (at the time) thought he'd enjoy the challenge. He knows better now!

You need to remove that frame member. I'll forward your email to him and maybe he'll have a chance to reply to you (I can only guarantee that I'll send him your info...not that he'll have the time to answer).

That's a great and interesting bike you bought. Enjoy!

ps> Sold my '77 R90s 25 yrs ago....that was a sweetie too.

Tesi 1 D

Bruce,

Right on as to Jeff, thats where the bike came from. I am with you as to doing the work myself, just wanted to let one of the Ducati mechanics out here know what they are in for. Thats why I was hoping to find a workshop manual.

My research indicates there were only 20 Tesi 1D 904 produced, I wonder how many made it to the US.

Thanks for replying and all have a happy New Year.

In the love/hate world of Bimota you'll come to find that the factory manuals are pretty soft on good info. Other than some torque specs and an exploded diagram or two, I've never refered to any of mine.

I know a guy in France who has a Tesi manual. I'll contact him and see if I can get it for you if you like.

I don't know about the production #'s. You are probably refering to the "25 Years of Bimota" book. Another source of info would be from Bob Smith at MotoPoint in Pennsylvania (X-Bimota NA importer). Bob's a Tesi owner also and usually can be talked into a Bimota conversation or two.

Tesi parts and manual

Bruce,
Hi, my name is Jeff Stegman and I bought all of Bob Smith's Bimota parts inventory and a few bikes. I have some Tesi parts and maybe a manual. I have a set of the Ohlins spring/shock assemblies for Tesi for sale on ebay. now. They don't make these or parts for them anymore, according to Ohlins.
Business name is Diamond Corsa and you can reach us in Ohio at 513-528-3409
