db4 cams

Hi there bimota folk.Im looking at purchasing a 2000 db4 carby model and am wondering if this motor has the carby ss camshafts or they used the fi cams off the ss 900 2000 model.thanks greg

I have serial #2 of the tricolor (carbed) DB4. Manufactured in 1999, but in the US they were all 2000 model year.
I think the engine is standard 900SS Ducati - no mods (other than the exhaust and airbox). Runs - OK- in standard form. So, standard 900SS cams.

Even tho Ducati had moved to fuel-injection by then, Bimota have always been at the mercy of their engine suppliers. That's why they they tried the V-Due experiment. I sure hope the new 2-stroke works out better .......

thanks for the info jeremy.So it sounds like they got the motors from the last batch of 900ss carbed motors ,probably from the 900ss fe era.Ok cheers
