BIMOTA OZ wheel quality??

I have a BIMOTA Tesi 3D LE with Gold OZ wheels on her. These are beautiful forged aluminum that are heavily CNC machined to what looks like extremely close tolerances and for weight reduction.

The OZ wheels on the Tesi 3D LE are superb. At least to me they are. You can see the CNC machining marks throughout the wheel showing a hugh amount of milling time to get a great finished product. And for me at least they look gorgeous ......but I like the looks of CNC machined billet components over any stamped and/or cast wheels.

My question however is about the OZ wheels that come stock on the BIMOTA SB8K Santa Monica. These OZ wheels are also said to be forged aluminum, but I have not seen them in person nor can I find any close up pictures to see the fit and finish on the wheels.

I believe that the SB8K Santa Monica was the first BIMOTA to sport a set of OZ wheels. They wheels are also a Gold color but a different design than what is on my Tesi 3D LE bike.

Can anyone tell me if the Santa Monica OZ wheels are as good a quality as those on the Tesi 3D LE??? Im hoping that they too are forged and then machined throughout to get their final design and fit.

Are the Santa Monica OZ wheels top quality pieces or are they lesser quality stamped forged items???? Stamp forged wheels are pressed into shape with like CNC work verse the heavy CNC machining done on top quality forged wheels.

Any info regarding this is welcomed. Any close up pictures would be great too.

Its pretty easy to tell the difference between a stamped forged wheel verse a machine forged wheel. The better wheel will show tooling marks all over it from the CNC machining. The thickness of the spokes and the body of the wheel will usually also be less thick as more weight is removed to improve on lessening unsprung rotating mass. A cheap stamp forged wheel will look like it came out of a giant cookie cutter and will almost look cast rather than cut.

Im asking because my next bike will be a Santa Monica and if it has marginal wheels stock then Ill want to start looking at upgrades.

thanks

You are correct....my error....the forged alloy wheels on my Tesi 3D LE are Marvic, and gold anodized.

The BIMOTA SB8K Santa Monica has forged OZ wheels also gold in color.

Thank you for the correction
