Buying a bike from japan, advise needed
No I have not found one but I am still looking for a Tesi 1DES or EF. I know, mission impossible but I still need to know how one would go about buying and getting a bike home form there. Has anyone ever done this? Any contacts?

Oh yeah, my contact rides Aprilias and is setting up a kind of rental system for foreigners when they come to Japan. So he is importing a few interesting bikes for that project.

From Europe is no issue because I know most of the sites to look and have imported my DB2. I also speak German. But Japan had a lot of bikes imported and Bimota Tesi's would have been right up there, but do not speak Japanese.

Not much help to you but kiwi land must be the easiest place to import bikes to. Seems like every third bike or car is an import. My 4s was imported with just 700km on the clock after 2 years of ownership in Japan
I have an ozzy mate who wants an Aprilia. Way cheaper here but too hard to import into OZ from here.....go figure. Neighbourly aren't we!!

I can import any new bike that is on a long list of Mfg's that already sell here. If there is a bike they dod not sell here I can not import it, period.
There is a way around this rule but the bike will then be registered as a home built. The Tesi 3D is one bike I want but still do not want to import as it would then become some bastardization.
ANY bike 15 years + can be imported! A Tesi 1D or such would be great, if you ever see one for sale let me know please. So those are the rules in short, nothing else seems to matter.
