Yellowstone N. P. Now Open
Some of the gates to Yellowstone opened yesterday. Was a nice day today so we rode in through this east gate, just 30 miles west of the house. Still lots of snow along the highway and a couple of the highway loops in the park still snowed shut. Beautiful there and the grizzleys are out and about; saw three along the east side of Yellowstone Lake - awesome animals. Calving time for the buffalo and elk. Still about 5 miles of highway construction going on this year from the east gate to Sylvan pass - not much fun on a Duc especially when you're not far behind a water truck or approach one. They turn the gravel and dirt into goo.
