Torque spec, oil line banjo bolts, '99 ST4

Anyone have a torque spec for oil line banjo bolts for '99 ST4, or even any year ST2 or ST4. For banjo bolt which attaches oil line to rocker-pin covers.

Thanks!

Tight enough such that they don't leak? That is what I did after I loosened on a bit to manuever. Felt about the same as the brake line banjo bolts.

If I'm not mistaken, LT's manual says to not loosen these since Duc doesn't provide a spec in the service manual. I can't seem to find one there after just looking.

On another rant, why couldn't Duc had shown the torque specs on the pertinent pages and save a lot of grief? Sort of like LT does at the beginning of each section.

Have a good one.

Yeah....though I have an LT manual and say no spec there re: the oil lines.

I think I also recall LT advising not to loosen them, but I had no choice - it was blocking access to a rocker-pin cover bolt which had to be removed for access to rocker pin for valve adjustment.

I retightened "as I would a brake line banjo bolt". I'm comfortable with that, but it's always nice to have a torque spec if one is available. Oh, and I mades sure that the new position of the secure banjo bolt does not black access to rocker-pin cover bolt... :-)

Thanks for the reply....

fren-tubo say 10nm for alloy fittings.i put a set of dp brake lines on my bike which
were made by fren -tubo and the information said no more than 15nm for the fittings.
so 10nm to 15nm.

Thanks Brian. I will note for my own use. I've been wondering about the brake lines myself.

wb, that rings a bell as I had to loosen the left one on the vert cyl myself. I've made a bunch of notes in my copy of LT's manual already.

Have a good one.

The ST4s manual says "Drilled screw for oil delivery to heads, M8 x 1,25, 15Nm"
I would think it's the same for all models and you have to take them off to get access to the centre screw so that you can get the cover plates off to get into the rocker pins.

Derek, I saw that but didn't think twice about it. Now, out of context, it makes sense. To me the statement seems to say the head was drilled. Now, I get that the screw was drilled. Banjo bolt. Duh! Thanks for the help with the obivious.

I just wish that the torque specs could also be presented on the pertinent pages or cross-referenced.

Have a good one.
