Rocker Arm Seal
Hi Guys
Just replacing the bearings on my rear suspension rocker arm and have now been told that Ducati no longer suplly the seals !
They can supply a complete rocker arm for £ 130 +
Do any of the mecahnics/engineers out there have an alternative suggestion or shall I just keep well greased as it is quite tucked away undeer the seat.
Any helpfull suggestions appreciated !

I'm very surprised at that! The seal is part no. 93781.1824 and is fitted to the current S4RS, S2R, MS1100 and HP1100 models.
Seal, Part No. 930.4.011.1A, is fitted to the 748/749/9XX and 1098 range. I don't think the inside and outside diameters are different but the depth might be.
In any event it shouldn't be difficult to get a replacement seal. Measure the OD, the ID and the depth and go to any bearing stockist. They shouldn't cost more than a pound or two.

Thanks for that info Derek I'll get the dealer to check it out.
They are new to Ducati (Coachhouse in Dyce , Aberdeen) and are either not used to the way Ducati can be or are trying to get an expensive sale from a simple fault.
I'll not be cynical on this occasion and give them the benefit of the doubt and see how things go in the future.
Cheers

I haven't been up to Coachhouse yet but will have a trip up there when the bike is back in the road in the spring (not long now )
You could try Ducati Glasgow. Harry, their parts guy is really good and knows his stuff about Ducatis. Tell him I sent you
PS Why don't you join the Scottish Ducati Club - It is affiliated to Ducati, it's free and there are lots of events/meetings organised for this year. Details at http://www.scottishducaticlub.co.uk

If you're really stuck I have a spare rocker arm (secondhand but in good condition) that you can have for £10 plus p&p. The seals are obviously not new but they are in good condition and may be enough to help you out. You could also take th eold ones to a bearing factor and see if they can match them.

Offer appreciated , I'm awaiting an update from the dealer but as I already have the new bearings ready to fit I will try and find alternative seals if need.
Thanks Again

I have now had a response form my dealer who says that the part number is the same for all the bikes but that Ducati have ceased supplying these seals so I will have to contact the bearing suppliers tomorrow and hopefully get them there.

So update is:-
Obtained the bearings and seals from Brammer in Aberdeen and have now fitted them.
The play in the swinging of about 3-5 mm at the wheel spindle has now virtually been removed. In the process of rectifying this problem I had to replace all the bolts in the mechanism and the aluminium bushes in the height adjuster.
Interestingly the seals on the rocker arm masked the problem when it was off , you could not feel the movement but once the seals were out you could then notice the unwanted wear.
Coachouse in Dyce closed before it even got fully running (a director died and the bank pulled the plug on the whole operation).
