Question DP exhaust question

I have an opportunity to purchase a new set of the DP exhaust from a performance kit for a very reasonable price. For a little history,I had purchased a kit earlier for my 2006 ST3s but ended up returning it because I was not happy with the fit (diameter of inlet pipes to header) and the increased intake noise. I have tried just the pipes and the bike runs great with no additional modifications needed. I still may try the PCIII route to tune it better at a later date.

Here is my question, the pipes are missing the DB killer or silencer insert. I know that there are some that are running in this configuration and was wondering if anybody would like to sell their insert to me. Thank you for your replies.

If you're able to get it to run right with the new exhaust and no DP ECU, please post the results. As far as the PCIII, that's the setup I now have on my '06 ST3s with CF Leo's and no dice. They say the O2 sensor on the new models was the death knell for that config. Some have somehow gotten it to work, though. Maybe you'll get lucky. I hope so!!

Hi David,
A little history, bike had slight surging and occasional misfire/backfire through intake off idle when new. At 600 mile service all normal checks performed as well as new ECU (not sure if mapping was different than stock), close attention paid to TBS (I have again readjusted to make sure it was spot on).

Bike runs great, no surging great power delivery at below 3k. When DP kit was installed with DP ecu bike was running a bit on the rich side, after I took kit off, bike again ran great. I now have the DP pipes on loan and with the DB killer removed bike again runs great. Solid idle, no surging pulls from around 2,500 with no problems, no intake backfiring. As you know the DP kit includes removing the O2 sensor, my sensor is in place and bike runs great. If I could find some DB killers or inserts it would be great as this is the combination that I was looking for and much less expensive than the full DP kit.
