Useless? Good luck, of all the bikes I've ridden the ones on my ST3 are the best I've experienced. I'm sure there are others with more diverse experience, but no mirror is going to be perfect.

I'm with Tylerman
If you think the mirrors are bad on your ST you never rode a Ducati superbike with stock mirrors have you? You could always try some bar end mirrors. CRG bar ends are nice. You can find them at Desmotimes & many other places. Do you have shoulers like a football player with pads on? I see you ride an '03 ST. Your bike didn't by chance ever have the mirrors replaced did it? The reason I ask is because the mirrors on the '04 & newer STs are about 1-1/4" shorter than '03 & older bikes. So, if you put newer mirrors on the old style fairing they wouldn't work too good. My 2 cents.

I replaced my stock mirrors with a CRG LS bar-end mirror. Folds in, if I happen to nudge a car while lane-sharing, is lighter, and IMO, looks better than the stockers. Stock mirrors do a damn fine job though, compared to every other bike I've owned or ridden.

I think the mirrors on my '05 ST3 are pretty good. I've managed to get the right set so it actually shows what's behind me in my lane and the left gives me a good view of the left lane. They're darned good compared to my previous bike. I had to look under my arms to use those mirrors. Probably looked like a bit strange going down the road with my arms flapping up and down all the time like a big bird. People probably wondered what institution allowed me out on the street...

Could you (or have you) posted pictures of your bike with the CRG mirrors - I'd love to see a side and front view, showing the whole bike.

I've tried a couple of options (none of the bar end ones) and I keep going back to the stock mirrors.

Probably due to my last bike too (a 900ssFE), but the mirrors on the ST3 are outstanding!!! Better than everything I've had in more than 30 years on the road.

I have to much vibration in the lense which makes it impossible to discern the police from other vehicles

Are yours bolted down tightly, superlight? When I went through removing and replacing the fairings, I didn't make sure everything was bolted down solidly. This led to excessive vibration in the stock mirrors.
I'll try and get some new picts up when I go for a ride tomorrow.
